2023 Annular Eclipse

I’ve been preparing for a while to try to get some good photos of the sun. For the annular solar eclipse on October 14, 2023, I took a trip down to Corpus Christi, Texas to make sure I was on the center line of the annularity.

Here are some of the photos that I got from that day!

And a video I got of when the annularity started.

Here’s a picture of my setup. I’m using my (very basic) Celestron NexStar 102SLT which has a 4″ (102mm) Apeture and a 26″ focal length. I’ve really liked this scope as a starter scope but I think I’m about ready for an upgrade! Photos were taken with my Nikon SLR camera and a 2x barlow T adapter.
