I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, sometimes called Mormons, and I believe in the teachings of the Church. I don’t claim to know everything or the reasons for all of the doctrine that the church teaches but I do know that as I have followed the teachings and doctrines of the church I have been happy and have seen the blessings of God in my life. Some of the beliefs that I hold most precious I have summarized in the pages in this section.
My Testimony
Before I start into a more detailed discussion of the doctrines of the gospel I would like to share my testimony of the truthfulness of the principles that I’ll be discussing in these pages. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. I know this through the power of the Holy Ghost and the spirit of revelation. I know these things by this power because I have read The Book of Mormon, pondered its teachings, and asked God in prayer if its teachings are true. They are true. I know it. I also know that there is a living prophet on the earth today. He speaks with God and God reveals His will for the people of the world through this prophet. I know that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ and that through him the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored to the earth. The authority to administer ordinances and seal covenants between God and man was restored through Joseph Smith and resides today in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Finally, I know that anyone who seeks with a sincere heart to know of these truths will also be able to know them through the power of the Holy Ghost. Coming to know is not merely an academic exercise, but rather it is a process of receiving pure knowledge from God who is the source of all knowledge.
